The fact that Miguel SEQUEIRA and Aida PUPO-CORREIA are botanists is no accident, as the island they live on has one of the largest numbers of endemic plants. We follow them along some of Madeira’s vertiginous trails.
_ici_“Nearly all the plants here, especially those in the rocks, are endemic…around 10 endemic species. It’s fantastic! (…) We are using a microscope to try and identify the vegetation in certain areas. Our objective is to compare the amounts of original and exotic vegetation in order to assess how biodiversity has changed.”
